Bayern Munich have initiated discussions with star striker Harry Kane regarding a new contract, aiming to extend the England captain’s stay in Bavaria beyond his current agreement.
Kane, who arrived from Tottenham Hotspur in 2023, has made a profound impact in Germany. He secured his first major senior trophy by helping the club win the Bundesliga title last season and has since established himself as one of Europe’s most prolific forwards. This campaign, he has netted 21 goals in 19 league appearances, putting him on course to challenge the competition’s single-season scoring record.
The club’s sporting director, Max Eberl, confirmed the ongoing dialogue, stating that while a decision is anticipated, discussions are proceeding. Echoing a calm approach, CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen noted that Kane and his family are fully settled in Munich, creating a positive environment for the negotiations without any immediate pressure.
Since his transfer, Kane has delivered an extraordinary return, scoring 119 goals in 126 appearances across all competitions for Bayern, swiftly rewriting several longstanding German football records in the process.
His current deal includes a reported release clause that could become active in the coming summer, a detail that has reportedly attracted attention from other European giants. However, the primary focus for both player and club remains on reaching an agreement to continue their successful partnership.
