A comprehensive global ranking of the top 100 women’s footballers for 2025 is set to be unveiled, following a landmark year for the sport. The selection process has been overseen by the most extensive and diverse panel of experts ever assembled for such a list.
This year’s voting body features an unprecedented mix of elite coaches, decorated former players, and respected journalists from across the globe. Notable coaching figures contributing their expertise include Vlatko Andonovski, Jonatan Giráldez, and Arsenal’s Champions League-winning manager, Renée Slegers. The panel is further strengthened by the insights of national team coaches such as Canada’s Casey Stoney and Germany’s assistant coach Maren Meinert.
A significant addition to the jury is the inclusion of numerous former international stars, many participating for the first time. This group includes high-profile names like Lieke Martens, a former top-ranked player herself, alongside Sam Mewis, Marta Corredera, and Desire Oparanozie. Their firsthand experience at the highest level provides a unique perspective on current performances.
The rankings reflect performances over the past 12 months, a period that featured major tournaments including a thrilling European Championship, a spectacular Copa América, and a highly competitive African Cup of Nations.
The countdown commences on Monday, December 1st, with the reveal of players ranked 100 through 71. The list will continue over the following days, with the final top 10 announced on Thursday, December 4th, concluding the annual assessment of the world’s finest female football talent.
