A Premier League footballer has been identified as the victim in a serious alleged incident in London last month. Tottenham Hotspur defender Destiny Udogie was reportedly threatened with a firearm by an individual described as an agent during an evening in early September.

According to reports, the event took place on a street in the Barnet area. Law enforcement was alerted and subsequently arrested a 31-year-old man. The suspect was detained on suspicion of firearms offences and blackmail related to threats made against a companion of the player. The individual has been released on bail pending further investigation. It is understood the agent in question does not represent the footballer.

The alleged confrontation occurred during an international break when the player was not on duty with his national team. He has continued his professional commitments without interruption, featuring for his club shortly afterwards.

In a statement, Tottenham Hotspur confirmed they are offering ongoing support to the player and his family but declined further comment due to the active legal proceedings.

Police confirmed they attended the scene following reports of a man being threatened with a gun. Their investigation also uncovered allegations that a second man had been blackmailed and threatened by the same suspect. No physical injuries were reported from the encounters.
