Victoria Jones, the 34-year-old daughter of Oscar-winning actor Tommy Lee Jones, was found deceased in a San Francisco hotel on New Year’s Day, authorities have confirmed.

Emergency services were dispatched to the Fairmont hotel in the early hours of January 1st following a report of an unresponsive individual. Medical personnel pronounced one person dead at the scene. The San Francisco Police Department and the medical examiner’s office are now leading the investigation, though an official cause of death has not been released. Initial reports indicate another hotel guest discovered Jones in a corridor and alerted staff.

Jones was the younger of two children from the actor’s marriage to Kimberlea Cloughley. She had a brief but notable early connection to the film industry, appearing alongside her father in major motion pictures like Men in Black II and The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada, as well as a guest role on the television drama One Tree Hill.

Her father had previously spoken with pride about her talent, noting in an interview that she was a member of the Screen Actors Guild and was fluent in Spanish. He also shared a humorous anecdote from a film set, recalling a time when a teenage Victoria resisted an early morning call time, leading him to “fire” her from the production—only for the crew to secretly fetch her so she could perform her scene.

Victoria Jones was a frequent companion to her father at high-profile events, including international film festivals. Tommy Lee Jones, a veteran of numerous iconic films from The Fugitive to No Country for Old Men, has not yet issued a public statement regarding his daughter’s passing. The investigation into the circumstances surrounding her death is ongoing.
