TOTTENHAM MANAGER APPEALS FOR PATIENCE AMIDST FAN DISCONTENT

Tottenham Hotspur manager Thomas Frank has expressed confidence that the club’s new ownership will afford him the time needed to build a successful project, despite a recent downturn in results and growing frustration from sections of the support.

The comments follow a difficult period for the North London side, which includes a 2-1 home defeat to Fulham last weekend. That loss marked a third consecutive setback and prompted audible dissent from the home crowd, particularly directed at goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario after an error.

Frank, who had previously described those jeering as “not true fans,” stood by the sentiment of his post-match remarks while acknowledging the collective need for improvement. “The only way is to perform and stay connected,” he stated, looking ahead to a challenging fixture away at Newcastle United.

The atmosphere was further highlighted by defender Pedro Porro, who took to social media to address “the true Spurs fans,” explaining his visible frustration at full-time was a reaction to perceived disrespect shown towards his teammates. Frank defended the player’s right to express his feelings, stating Porro’s comments were “fair in every aspect.”

With only three victories in their last thirteen matches across all competitions, pressure is mounting. However, Frank insists he retains the backing of the club’s new leadership, who assumed control following Daniel Levy’s exit earlier this season.

“They are intelligent people who understand business and are learning about football,” Frank said of the ownership group. “They know that every sustained success in this sport requires time and a solid foundation. You might get a short-term spike, but building something lasting is a different process.”

The manager also pushed back against the narrative that he has lost the fanbase, calling for unity. “Every fan wants to win and to support,” he argued. “Of course, frustration grows when results aren’t there. But when we talk about losing fans, what portion are we really talking about? Our goal is to have everyone with us.”

The immediate task for Frank and his squad is to reverse their poor form at St. James’ Park, a ground where they have suffered four straight defeats.
