The first official trailer for Christopher Nolan’s long-awaited cinematic adaptation of Homer’s “The Odyssey” has premiered online, offering a sweeping glimpse into the legendary journey.
Matt Damon stars as the famed Greek hero Odysseus, seen in the preview as a weathered warrior determined to lead his men home after the Trojan War. “After years of war … no one could stand between my men … and home … not even me,” his voice intones over visuals of storm-tossed seas and looming perils.
The footage also introduces key figures from the myth: Anne Hathaway appears as the steadfast Penelope, awaiting her husband’s return, while Tom Holland is seen as their son, Telemachus.
This online release follows a limited theatrical preview earlier in December and comes after the director disclosed the staggering scale of the production, which reportedly utilized two million feet of Imax film stock. The film is scheduled to launch in international markets in mid-July 2026.
