ARSENAL NEWCOMER FOCUSED ON CHELSEA CLASH, UNFAZED BY EARLY NOISE

Noni Madueke says his focus is firmly on the pitch as he prepares for a potential return to Stamford Bridge this weekend, having settled quickly into life at Arsenal. The winger, who joined the Gunners from Chelsea in a deal worth up to £52 million, acknowledged some initial online criticism of his signing but stressed that the matchday support from Arsenal fans has been his primary source of confidence.

The 23-year-old England international marked his second appearance back from a September knee injury with his first goal for the club in a 3-1 Champions League victory over Bayern Munich. He described the injury setback as coming at “horrible timing” after a positive start to his Arsenal career.

While a small section of supporters voiced opposition online when he arrived, Madueke stated he has moved past it. “When you’re in the public eye, people will have their opinions,” he said. “But the experience in the stadium, how the fans have embraced me, has been unbelievable. That’s what matters. Feeling that support from the side of the pitch gives you a massive boost. I’m absolutely made up with it.”

All attention now turns to Sunday’s Premier League trip to face his former club, Chelsea. With Arsenal holding a six-point lead at the top of the table and doubts over Leandro Trossard’s fitness, Madueke is in contention to start. He admitted he is unsure of the reception that awaits him in West London but insisted it will not affect his performance.

“It might be a bit hostile, it might not. I’m a professional,” Madueke said. “I’ve played in all kinds of atmospheres. I’ll just be focused on the task at hand.”

When asked about Arsenal’s prospects for a historic league and European double, the forward remained grounded. “Our goal every game is to win,” he stated. “It’s probably not helpful to look too far ahead at this stage of the season.”
